The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) has published its product availability statement following its September 2023 meeting, highlighting that the majority of building materials supply (which includes bricks, blocks, boilers, plaster and timber products) has returned to pre-coronavirus (COVID-19) levels. In respect of the ongoing issue on reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC), CLC has formed a RAAC industry response group to respond to this challenge and will share views on any supply chain concerns. However, CLC emphasised that the key economic drivers—inflation, increased cost of living and higher interest rates, will remain a significant challenge for construction output for the remaining year.
