The Office for Students (OfS) has revealed that care leavers are more likely to drop out of university. According to the OfS’ most recent ‘Differences in student outcomes’ report, the dropout rate for students who had spent time in care was 5.6 percentage points higher than students who had not been in care. This is a marked reduction from 7.5 percentage points during 2014–15.
