The European Consumers Organisation (BEUC) has written to European Commissioner, Thierry Breton, on the limitations of the scope of the revised Product Liability Directive and the exclusion of online marketplaces from the civil liabilities. The proposed rules would limit liability for defective products to just producers, which is problematic when sellers cannot be identified.
