BEUC, the umbrella group of 46 independent consumer associations from 32 countries, has announced that the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union will consider several initiatives relevant to consumers during its six-month presidency starting in January 2022. These initiatives are the General Product Safety Regulation, the Consumer Credit Directive, the ‘Fit for 55’ legislative package, the Sustainable Product Initiative and ‘Empowering the consumer for the green transition’, the Artificial Intelligence Act, the ePrivacy Regulation, and the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
