The Association of Consumer Support Organisations (ACSO) has announced that there has been a significant drop in the number of people making injury claims to the government’s Compensations Recovery Unit (CRU). ACSO made a freedom of information request to CRU, which revealed that nearly 50,000 fewer people made a claim in October to December 2020 when compared with the same period the previous year. ACSO has urged insurers to offer each customer £35 as a reflection of the falling numbers of claims.
