4.3 Certificates required before cremation

| Commentary

In addition to the requirement to make an application1 for cremation, no cremation may take place unless a death certificate has been given or a certified copy of entry of death on the relevant register has been issued2 and:

  1. 4.3.1

        a certificate3 has been given by a registered medical practitioner who has attended the deceased during their last illness and who can certify definitely as to the cause of death4,
