6 Registrar’s certificate and coroner’s order for burial

A body may not be disposed of by cremation, burial or any other means before a registrar’s certificate1 or coroner’s order2 has been given to the person effecting the disposal3. However, the person effecting the disposal by burial of the body may proceed with the burial if they are satisfied, by a written declaration in the prescribed form by the person procuring the disposal, that a certificate or order has been issued, without production of that certificate or order4.
