4.4 Disposal of ashes

After cremation, the cremation authority must dispose of the ashes in accordance with the applicant’s instructions for ashes1. In any case where the applicant does not give instructions for disposal, or where ashes are not collected in accordance with those instructions, any ashes held by the cremation authority must be decently interred in a burial ground or part of a crematorium reserved for the burial of ashes, or scattered there2.
