5 Disposal otherwise than by earth burial or cremation

Although only earth burial and cremation are expressly dealt with by statute, other methods of disposing of bodies are not forbidden1. Even before the current regulatory legislation, cremation was not unlawful provided the burning was done in such a manner as to avoid causing a nuisance2. Burial at sea is a recognised and lawful practice3.
