The CAT issued its ruling in Aramark Limited v CMA, an application by Aramark Limited (Aramark) to appeal the CAT’s judgment of 10 March 2026 rejecting an out-of-time application of review of the CMA’s final report in relation to its phase 2 investigation into the completed acquisition by Armark of Entier Limited (Entier).

This follows the CAT’s September 2023 judgment which upheld the CMA’s finding that Accord-UK’s prices for hydrocortisone tablets between 2008 and 2018 were excessive and unfair, amounting to an abuse in its dominant position.

This document lists cases where organisations, including government departments, NHS trusts and local authorities, have failed to respond to PFD reports by their due dates. The report provides specific details for each case, such as the deceased's name, date of report, coroner information and the entity responsible for responding. This initiative appears to be aimed at improving accountability and ensuring timely responses to these critical reports, which are designed to prevent similar deaths in the future. The publication of this information may serve to prompt action from the listed organisations and enhance the effectiveness of the PFD reporting system.

The Courts and Tribunals Judiciary (CATJ) has published updated Artificial Intelligence (AI) guidance replacing previous guidance from April 2025. The updated guidance expands the glossary of AI terms and provides enhanced warnings about bias risks in training data and AI hallucinations that generate incorrect information. It strengthens confidentiality advice, reminding judicial office holders not to enter private information into public AI tools and establishing reporting procedures for inadvertent data disclosures. The guidance applies to all judicial office holders, clerks, judicial assistants, legal advisers and support staff under the Lady Chief Justice and Senior President of Tribunals.
