The Financial Stability Board (FSB) has published a consultation report on proposed policy recommendations to address financial stability risks arising from leverage in non-bank financial intermediation (NBFI). The recommendations cover non-bank financial firms that use leverage, including hedge funds, other leveraged investment funds, pension funds, and insurance companies. Banks and broker-dealers are also included in their role as leverage providers. Responses are sought by 28 February 2024. The FSB plans to publish a final report mid-2025.
