The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published Final Notices imposing financial penalties on Richard Adam and Zafar Khan, former group finance directors of Carillion plc, for being knowingly concerned in the company’s publication of misleading information to the market. The action relates to Carillion’s trading update issued in December 2016, prior to the company’s profit warning in July 2017 and subsequent liquidation.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has imposed a £123,500 fine on former chief supply chain officer at Wizz Air, András Sebők, for breaching Articles 19(1) and 19(11) of the UK Market Abuse Regulation (MAR). Sebők, acting in his capacity as a person discharging managerial responsibility (PDMR), traded the company's shares during restricted periods and failed to disclose his trades within the required timeframe. This is the first time the FCA has fined a PDMR for trading company shares during closed periods under Article 19(11) of MAR, and the second time it has fined a PDMR for failing to disclose personal trades under Article 19(1) of MAR.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has fined oil rig consultant Russel Gerrity £309,843 for using inside information to net himself £128,765. The FCA found Gerrity engaged in insider dealing in breach of Article 14(a) of the UK Market Abuse Regulation. Gerrity agreed to solve the matter and qualified for a 30% (stage 1) discount under the FCA’s settlement procedures. Were it not for this discount, the FCA would have imposed a financial penalty of £387,448.

Southwark Crown Court has scheduled the Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) criminal proceedings against John Dance, former WealthTek LLP principal partner, for September 2027.
