Mendio Life's Meta ad for an acupressure clip made medical claims for a device that did not hold the applicable conformity marking and was not registered with the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). The ruling forms part of the ASA's work on ads claiming to treat prostate issues in a campaign to protect consumers from these types of claims. The ASA also received a complaint regarding Nultqh GB's Meta ad for a prostate patch, which made medicinal claims for an unlicensed product. The ASA ruled that both ads made medicinal claims for products which were not licensed.
