The Welsh Minister for Education and Welsh Language, Jeremy Miles, has confirmed the appointment of Simon Pirotte OBE as Chief Executive for the Commission for Tertiary Education and Research (CTER). The appointment follows the endorsement of Pirotte by the Children, Young People and Education Committee and Pirotte will take up the post in September 2023. Pirotte will have responsibility for overseeing Wales's higher and further education, school sixth forms, apprenticeships and research and innovation.
