The Welsh Government has announced that the Counsel General and Minister for Constitution, Mick Antoniw, has launched a programme aiming to improve the accessibility of Welsh law, forming part of a longer-term plan to establish Codes of Welsh law. The programme is being commenced via a 'consolidation Bill', which will simplify and modernise planning and historic environmental law by harmonising all provisions from various pieces of legislation, allowing those in Wales to 'refer to a single, fully bilingual act' consisting of all the relevant law. The ongoing programme aims to also enhance the accessibility of law via digital solutions, such as adding content to the Cyfraith Cymru/Law Wales website and reviewing the potential of AI and machine learning.
