MLex has reported that the wedding-dress maker Sophie et Voila has been fined €10,000 by the Spanish Data Protection Authority for unlawful data processing. The regulator found that an Instagram post depicting a data subject in one of its dresses—posted for the purpose of debt collection—was contrary to Article 6 of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (EU GDPR).
