UK and US government representatives met in Washington to discuss three work streams: data, critical and emerging technologies and secure and resilient digital infrastructure. The officials identified the following deliverables to consider in 2023: collaborations to facilitate global trusted data flows, the finalisation and implementation of a data bridge between the UK and the US, the promotion of open and reliable telecommunication systems, discussions on next-generation licence-exempt technologies in the 6 GHz band, opportunities for collaboration between the UK and the US semiconductor industry and strengthening their cooperation on AI technical standards development and tools for reliable AI. Progress is to be reviewed every quarter, with the next formal dialogue to take place in January 2024.
