The Sentencing Council has published updated sentencing guidelines for terrorism offences following a consultation which ran from 20 October 2021 to 11 January 2022. The Sentencing Council has provided that the new guidelines will come into effect on 1 October 2022 and will reflect changes in law brought in by the Counter-Terrorism and Border Security Act 2019 (CTBSA 2019) and the Counter-Terrorism and Sentencing Act 2021 (CTSA 2021).
