The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union have agreed in principle to a decision on the 8th Environmental Action Programme (EAP), as proposed by the European Commission during October 2021. The EAP sets out six priority objectives in relation to climate neutrality, climate adaptation, circular economy, zero pollution, protecting and restoring biodiversity and reducing environmental and climate pressures related to production and consumption, and outlines the legal framework which will ensure the climate and environmental laws are implemented effectively across the EU.
