The Planning Inspectorate has provided an update to the Early Adopters Programme (EAP) trialing various components of future enhanced pre-application services for the Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP). The update provided will support the development of relevant components from project inception to maximise positive influence on the pre-application programme and attain a smoother and faster post-submission stage. Following the provided update, components in the EAP will include the use of Programme Planning, Evidence Plans, Issues Tracking, Pre-application Principal Areas of Disagreement Summary Statements (PADSS) and Advice logs. There are current discussions within the government regarding the potential extension of the EAP as well as opportunities to trial similar components and try new measures to identify any demand for new and enhanced pre-application service offerings in future.
