The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman has reported that Metro Home Care provided inadequate care after an elderly woman left hospital following a fall. The woman developed bed sores on her feet, that had developed to the most serious stage. Metro Home Care was commissioned by Ealing Council to visit four times a day for medication and personal care assistance but they were sometimes late or did not arrive. The woman’s daughter provided evidence of care notes, which appeared to be falsified, and an Ombudsman investigation found no evidence the council took action following the hospital’s safeguarding referral.
