The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has updated its early release on compassionate grounds policy framework. The policy framework includes the eligibility criteria and process for making an application for early release of a sentenced prisoner, child or young person on compassionate grounds. In its update, the MoJ has amended paragraph 4.17, which does not broaden the policy but gives additional, non-exhaustive examples of illnesses that can be considered under the scheme.
