The Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (LUHC) Committee has published a report regarding Adult Social Care. In the report, LUHC has stated that the government must urgently provide additional funding, 'in the order of several billions each year', for Adult Social Care, otherwise the sector will be unable to mitigate the current pressures of rising inflation and unmet care needs. In particular, LUHC identifies the government’s charging reforms, local government finance, unpaid carers and workforce challenges as key issues that require urgent action, but due to the lack of funding will continue to be problematic in both the long and short term.
