The Department of Health and Social Care has announced that Lancashire’s coronavirus (COVID-19) alert level will be upgraded from high to very high from Saturday 17 October 2020. This means that inhabitants of Lancashire will have to abide by tier 3 rules, requiring them to refrain from socialising with anyone outside of their household or with more than six others in an outdoor location amongst other restrictions. It has also been decided, following discussion with local leaders, that ‘the adult gaming industry, casinos, bingo halls, bookmakers and betting shops and soft play areas must close’, and car boot sales will also not be permitted.
