The United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has published Working Group III's report, titled 'Climate Change 2022: Mitigation of climate change', which calls for urgent action on climate change as the window for limiting global warming to 1.5°C is closing fast. While the growth in global emissions has slowed over the past ten years, the IPCC emphasises that more needs to be done, including halving global emissions by 2030, to keep the temperature goal within reach and avoid the worst impacts of global warming. The report highlights the need to urgently decarbonise energy, industry, and transport and make homes more energy efficient if the Paris Agreement goal of keeping global temperature rise below 2°C is to be achieved.
