Guidance has been issued by Mrs Justice Theis, acting President of the Family Division, regarding the provisions of Family Procedure Rules 2010, PD 36U (Pilot Provision: Service and notification of applications and orders under Part IV of the Family Law Act 1996), which is inserted into FPR 2010 from 3 August 2020, and introduces a temporary modification in relation to applications under Part IV of the Family Law Act 1996 (FLA 1996) to expressly provide for the courts to direct another method for the service of applications and orders in FLA 1996, Pt IV proceedings where appropriate, as a result of the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) limiting the availability of court bailiffs to effect personal service.
