The government has announced that it has accepted a 6.5% pay increase recommendation for teachers from the School Teachers’ Review Body (STRB). In a joint statement on teachers’ pay, the government has also agreed to bring forward wider reforms to reduce teacher and leader workload in partnership with all four teacher unions. The four unions, Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL), National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT), the NASUWT and the National Education Union (NEU), will put the deal to their members with a recommendation to accept the STRB recommendation.
