The foreign ministers of the G7 countries have issued a joint statement on the topics of climate, environment, peace and security following their meeting in Germany. They firstly emphasise that in light of the objective to limit global warming to 1.5°C, halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030 and reach net zero emissions, they recognise that the impacts of the climate and biodiversity crises constitute a threat to international peace and stability which disproportionately affect developing, lower-income and conflict-riddled states.
