Article summary

Pensions analysis: The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has published a consultation seeking views on what it calls ‘disclose and explain’ proposals on illiquid investments and proposed regulations on employer related investments. The proposals are the latest of a number of measures designed to help trustees of defined contribution (DC) pension schemes achieve positive outcomes and value for their members. It also responds in the consultation to an earlier consultation and call for evidence on enabling investment in productive finance and DC consolidation. Suzanne Burrell, partner at Shoosmiths, comments on the proposals, the consultation and the next steps.
