The European Central Bank (ECB) has published the keynote speech given by its vice-president, Luis de Guindos, at the joint ECB and European Commission conference on European Financial Integration and Stability. De Guindos said that while climate change was an emerging financial stability risk for the EU, it also presented an opportunity to forge deeper integration in order to tackle the problem. Policies that foster stronger and more resilient financial integration within the euro area are needed more urgently than ever, de Guindos said.
