The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) has welcomed commitments to halt biodiversity loss by 2030 which were reaffirmed at the G20 Environment Ministerial in Naples. The G20 stated their determination to increase efforts to prevent illegal threats to nature such as logging. Individuals from G20 members supporting the 30x30 pledge, such as Lord Goldsmith, and the Leaders’ Pledge for Nature encouraged others to make similar commitments. Lord Goldsmith also underpinned the importance of tackling zoonotic disease risks in line with a One Health approach to emerging diseases.
