The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has published the final report from the Natural Capital Committee (NCC) before the NCC closes at the end of November 2020. The NCC advised on environmental policy and the report records all the work the NCC conducted over its two terms (2012–2020). Among other things, the NCC has advised seven Defra Secretaries of State on natural capital, transformed the nation’s understanding of the importance of natural capital for economic prosperity and human wellbeing and helped to fully entrench natural capital principles into government policy.
