The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) has launched a consultation seeking views on the future of wireless networks in the UK. In particular, the DCMS would like to hear views on the wireless connectivity needs of the UK over the next ten years and what more needs to be done to deliver it. The deadline for responding is 11.45 pm on 25 November 2021. It comes as the government has announced that more than 1,000 schools are now enjoying full fibre broadband following investment to level up internet access across the UK. The investment focused on schools that are in rural or hard-to-reach areas and cannot currently access speeds of 100 megabits per second, and which also were not in line to receive commercial upgrades from broadband companies.
