The Scottish Government has launched a consultation proposing potential actions to tackle litter and flytipping across Scotland. It is seeking views on the aims, objectives and actions of the new National Litter and Flytipping Strategy for Scotland, drafted in partnership with Zero Waste Scotland, Keeping Scotland Beautiful and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency. Proposed actions, which fall within the themes of behaviour change, services and infrastructure, and enforcement, include, among others, conducting research to understand the influences on behaviour leading to flytipping, exploring a flexible approach to waste disposal and reviewing the barriers to enforcement of flytipping offences.
