The European Commission has published the October 2023 infringements package, which includes a reasoned opinion on waste shipments in a case brought by Poland against Germany, letters of formal notice calling on Hungary, Portugal, Romania and Slovenia to comply with EU rules on public procurement and concessions and requesting that Demark correctly transposes Directive 2013/59/Euratom (the Euratom Basic Safety Standards Directive), and a reasoned opinion urging Portugal to fully transpose Directive (EU) 2018/2001 (the Renewable Energy Directive). The Commission has also announced that it will close 58 cases in which the issues with Member States have been resolved without the Commission needing to pursue the procedure further.
