The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) have announced an increase in monthly construction output by 2.0% in volume terms in December 2021, because of an increase in new work (3.5%) while repair and maintenance output declined by 0.7% on the month. Further to this, the annual construction output increased by 12.7% in 2021 compared to 2020 due to the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) on construction output in 2020. The annual rate of construction output price growth was the strongest annual rate since records began in 2014 at 6.2% in the 12-months leading to December 2021.
