The Administrative Council has adopted the amendment of several European Patent Court (EPC) Rules, with legal changes taking effect in two packages. The first package, entering into force on on 1 February 2023, concerns the presentation requirements for documents resulting in the removal of rules 46 and 49(3)-(12) EPC and adaptation of rules 49(2), 50, 57(i) and 82(2) EPC accordingly. The second package, entering into force on 1 November 2023, affects rules 126(2), 127(2) and 131(2) EPC regarding notification systems from paper to the digital world, where electronic documents are delivered on the same day.
