DBT publishes trade remedies notice 2026/04 on anti-dumping duty

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has published trade remedies notice 2026/04 concerning anti-dumping duty on welded tubes and pipes originating from Belarus and China. The duties will remain unchanged at 38.1% ad valorem for Belarus and 90.6% ad valorem for China and will take effect from 27 January 2026. The anti-dumping duty will not apply to line pipe for oil or gas pipelines, casing and tubing for oil or gas drilling, precision tubes, or tubes and pipes fitted with attachments for conducting gases or liquids for use in civil aircraft.

Northern Ireland Office notifies Assembly of Windsor Framework decision on Non-Road Mobile Machinery Regulation

The Northern Ireland Office has published correspondence from Secretary of State Hilary Benn to the Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly concerning a Windsor Framework decision under Schedule 6B of the Northern Ireland Act 1998. The letter refers to a decision the government is making with the European Union on 2 February 2026, to include the Non-Road Mobile Machinery Regulation in the Windsor Framework.

Commission announces conclusion of EU-India free trade agreement negotiations

The European Commission has announced that the EU and India have concluded negotiations on a free trade agreement (FTA) aimed at strengthening trade and economic relations between the two sides. The Commission describes the agreement is the largest trade deal either side has concluded to date.
