User policies, terms and conditions

Any website will need a number of policies, terms and conditions to govern the relationship with its users and set out the conditions on which the user is permitted to use the website. This is likely to include general terms and conditions, plus specific policies which deal with certain issues in more detail.

Terms and conditions

General

Most websites will require a general set of terms and conditions which contain the over-arching rules governing use of a website. The information included in this document may depend upon the type of website. However, generally, this will contain information about the website provider (such as their contact details) and set out any prohibitions on use and protections reserved to the website provider.
