The Society of Authors (SoA), in partnership with the US Authors Guild, has launched the Human Authored logo scheme to help authors distinguish human‑created work from the growing volume of AI‑generated books. The scheme aims to protect human creativity, highlight the skill, empathy and imagination involved in original writing and support fair remuneration for authors. It responds to concerns that unregulated generative AI is threatening creative careers, with SoA surveys reporting falling earnings, cancelled commissions and that 86% of authors say GenAI has already reduced their income. The SoA is calling on the UK Government to adopt an AI regulatory framework to safeguard livelihoods across the UK’s £124.6bn creative industries.

The Society of Construction Law (Singapore) (SCL(S)) has issued a protocol on the use of experts' joint statements in arbitration proceedings. The protocol, prepared by the SCL(S) Thought Leadership Committee, is intended for use by experts, tribunals and counsel in both Singapore domestic arbitrations and Singapore-seated international arbitrations. Its purpose is to promote constructive engagement between experts, helping them clarify key issues and differences so that tribunals can address disputed matters within the time allocated for expert evidence. This protocol is the first in a planned series by SCL(S), intended to contribute to education, study and research in construction law and related field.

The Society of Construction Law has announced the publication of a report examining Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, arrangements, and implementation within the UK construction and legal sectors. The report, based on a survey conducted by the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction in September 2024, offers critical analysis of the results and compares practitioner perceptions with growing academic literature on the built environment. This publication provides valuable insights into the current state of ESG understanding and application in construction law, bridging the gap between industry practice and scholarly research.
