HM Land Registry (HMLR) has updated its guidance on completing the evidence of identity panels on forms AP1, FR1 and DS2. A new section entitled Evidence of identity you must provide has been added to clarify the types of supporting identity evidence required for applications for registration, including the use of forms ID1, ID2, ID3 and ID5, rule 17 identity evidence and applicable exceptions set out in Practice Guide 67—Evidence of identity. The guidance has also been amended to reflect HMLR’s current identity policy, including the requirement for personal representatives who assent or transfer land to provide evidence of identity, and to clarify how the confirmation of identity panels on forms AP1, FR1 and DS2 should be completed where no conveyancer is acting.

HM Land Registry (HMLR) has updated its guidance on the Provision of Information (Contractual Control) (Registered Land) Regulations 2026, SI 2026/615 to include a detailed list of the information that must be submitted when reporting contractual control agreements to HMLR. The additions specify the required details relating to the agreement, the parties, the contractual control right and the land affected.

HM Land Registry (HMLR) has updated Practice Guide 75 on transfers under a chargee's power of sale. Section 2.2.4 of the guidance has been revised to address the scenario in which an interest was initially protected by notice at the time of the charge's registration, where the notice was subsequently removed, but has been re-entered prior to the transfer under the lender’s power of sale. The guidance aims to provide clarity for lenders and conveyancers handling such transfers.
