HM Land Registry (HMLR) has updated Practice Guide 8—Execution of deeds. Section 7 has been amended to add a cross-reference to other guidance on local authority execution in section 5.

HM Land Registry (HMLR) has updated Practice Guide 8—Execution of deeds. Section 10.5 has been amended to remove out-of-date practice following a review. HMLR will no longer raise a requisition when ‘signed as a deed’ is used in the execution of a prescribed deed by a corporate body.

HM Land Registry (HMLR) has updated Practice Guide 8—Execution of deeds. Section 2.7.2 has been amended to clarify that HMLR will accept a certificate from the conveyancer acting for the limited partnership, which states that a deed has been duly and properly executed in accordance with the partnership’s constitution.

HM Land Registry (HMLR) has updated Practice Guide 82—Electronic signatures accepted by HMLR. Sections 3.1, 3.2, 3.3.1 and 5.2 have been amended to clarify that when using a conveyancer-certified electronic signature, the electronic document stored within the signature platform constitutes the original deed or document. It is not acceptable to print or electronically store a copy outside the platform and add the date to that copy instead of dating the original electronic document within the platform. Section 12 has also been updated to include two key reminders regarding the use of conveyancer-certified electronic signatures.
