The principles applicable to basic electronic signatures apply. Advanced electronic signatures are not expressly given particular status in respect of admissibility or legal effect. The crucial feature of advanced electronic signatures is that they require a link between the signature and the signatory, with a view to providing a degree of identity authentication. In practice, the evidential value of an advanced electronic signature is likely to be higher than a basic electronic signature due to the thorough processes used to create it. Most advanced electronic signatures rely on PKI to fulfil its requirements. A signature record can show any evidence of tampering.
PRACTICE NOTES
This Practice Note summarises the evolving policy and regulatory position in respect of the potential future deployment of Advanced Nuclear Technologies and, in particular, small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs) in the UK. Details of, and links to, key policy documents are included in the Practice Note, together with an overview of the position relating to ANT licensing, planning, siting, decommissioning and insurance. For further practical guidance on the financing of energy, power and resources projects across a number of sectors, including those discussed in this Practice Note, see also textbook: Energy and Resources Financing: A Practical Handbook. What are Advanced Nuclear Technologies (ANT)? The term ‘ANT’ is used to aggregate the most recent types of nuclear technologies. These are 'small modular reactors' (or SMRs), 'small and medium-sized reactors', micro nuclear reactors and advanced modular reactors. In particular,

Advantages of BIM • BIM should reduce both capital and whole life costs of buildings. • Co-ordination and buildability problems can be ironed out at the design stage rather than causing delay and additional cost when they are discovered during construction. • The implications of proposed design changes can be explored quickly and cheaply in the virtual model. • 3D images are created, allowing easier visualisation of the end product. • The model can be simulated and analysed in order to obtain information about running costs. • The design data (such as specifications and other technical data) are included within the model, making this information easy to access. • Detailed data will be collated: eg Construction Operations Building information exchange (COBie), which is a multiple page

A general definition of an offshore trust is a trust where the trustees are resident in a low or zero tax jurisdiction. Such jurisdictions with a connection to the UK include the Crown Dependencies of Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, and the overseas territories of Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands, Cayman Islands and Gibraltar (together the ‘CDOTs’). Offshore trusts are, therefore, often associated with the tax advantages they can provide, although the tax position of the settlor and beneficiaries should also be considered. There are also other advantages which are not related to tax planning. Confidentiality and anonymity Trustees have a duty under common law to keep the affairs of the trust confidential. This duty derives from the general law of breach of confidence. This common law duty has been considered in a number of cases, often relating to the release of information to beneficiaries, or requests from international regulators. These have established that the duty is not absolute, but the courts of the offshore jurisdictions have an
