The Commons European Statutory Instruments Committee (ESIC) has terminated its operation, after having ceased to exist following the dissolution of Parliament on 30 May 2024. ESIC was responsible, along with the Lords Secondary Legislation Scrutiny Committee (SLSC), for the sifting processes under the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (EU(W)A 2018), European Union (Future Relationship) Act 2020 (EU(FR)A 2020) and Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Act 2023 (REUL(RR)A 2023). It scrutinised proposed negative statutory instruments (SIs) made under the EU(W)A 2018, EU(FR)A 2020 and REUL(RR)A 2023, and made recommendations on the appropriate parliamentary procedure before the instruments are laid in Parliament.

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) convened the 7th annual Energy Trading Enforcement Forum on 3 December 2024.
