The European Payments Council (EPC) has published application programming interface (API) specifications for its EPC Directory Service (EDS). The specifications will be accessible to scheme participants and their technical providers following completion of VOP scheme adherence and EDS onboarding procedures.

The Application Programming Interface (API) Reference Toolbox (ART) is a dedicated test environment developed to assist payment service providers (PSPs) and routing and verification mechanisms (RVMs) in verifying compliance with the EPC's VOP Inter-PSP API specifications. It enables users to test both the requesting (initiator of VOP request) and responding (data provider) roles of the API ecosystem. The Test Cases document outlines a series of both positive and negative test cases designed to validate the VOP solution.

The European Payments Council (EPC) has released version 1.1 of all five 2025 EPC payment scheme rulebooks, which took effect on 5 October 2025. The updated rulebooks revise the date from which the use of the unstructured address format is no longer permitted to 15 November 2026, moved forward from the previous date of 22 November 2026 set in version 1.0. This amended date aligns with the November 2026 Swift Standards MX release date scheduled for the second full weekend of November 2026. The EPC confirmed that version 1.1 does not impact any other business or operational rules compared to version 1.0. The five updated rulebooks cover SCT, SCT Inst, SDD Core, SDD B2B, and OCT Inst payment schemes, with accompanying updated implementation guidelines and supporting documents also published.
