The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has named six organisations for their failure to report gender pay gap data for 2023-2024. The organisations failed to report their data despite warning and reminder notices sent by EHRC between April and May 2024. The six organisations include Alpenbest Limited, Drug Development Solutions Limited, Apex Prime Care, Norchem Healthcare Limited, Ultra Electronics Limited and Care Quality Services. EHRC will now be writing to the chief executives of the organisations asking for their data to be reported as soon as possible, with legal investigations conducted by EHRC if they do not.

Notaro Homes Ltd; Radish Food Services Group Ltd; Robinson Webster (Holdings) Ltd; Seafood Trading Ltd; Strike Ltd; and Trocadero (London) Hotel Ltd. EHRC has written to the chief executives of these organisations, asking them to report their data as soon as possible, with legal investigations to be conducted by EHRC if they do not.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has released updated guidance for employers on preventing sexual harassment at work, in light of the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023 which came into force in October 2024. The guidance, formed of template checklists, monitoring logs and an action plan, outlines practical measures employers should implement, such as policy development, staff training, and complaint handling procedures.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has published a consultation on changes to its Code of Practice for services, public functions and associations (the Code), following the Supreme Court’s judgment of 16 April 2025 in For Women Scotland v Scottish Ministers on the definition of ‘sex’ for the purposes of the Equality Act 2010. A draft of the full Code was consulted on between October 2024 and January 2025 and as such, the latest consultation will focus on the sections of the Code which are affected by the Supreme Court judgment. The consultation closes on 30 June 2025.

The guide was created for public authorities and organisations delivering a public function in England and individuals who develop new policies and review the effectiveness and impact of existing policies. The guidance will assist in compliance with the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) as set out in the Equality Act 2010.

The guidance, which covers recruitment and all stages of employment, provides practical tips, conversation prompts (to ensure managers foster a culture where reasonable adjustments can be discussed openly), questions and case study examples.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) have published a report evaluating how the socio-economic duty is used in Wales and Scotland in anticipation of the duty being implemented in England. The socio-economic duty, which is set out in section 1 of the Equality Act 2010, requires decision-makers to have ‘due regard’ to the desirability of reducing inequality resulting from socio-economic disadvantage. Although this duty has been implemented in Scotland and Wales, it is yet to be enacted in England.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has reported that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) issued an apology and a substantial financial settlement to former Corporal, who fronted British Army recruitment campaigns. Kerry-Ann Knight's discrimination claim, funded and assisted by EHRC's legal support scheme for race discrimination cases, was taken to an employment tribunal, with the parties settling before the award of a final judgment. MoD's apology and financial settlement does not contain an admission of liability by the British Army. Looking forward, EHRC announced that tackling discrimination, harassment and victimisation in the armed forces will be a strategic priority for 2024-2025.
