The Chartered Institute for Arbitrators (Ciarb) annual Alexander lecture has been held in London on 8 November 2023 and delivered by Chartered Arbitrator, FCIArb, Toby Landau KC, on 'International Investment Arbitration and the Search for Depoliticisation'. The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb) European Branch has announced that its 2026 annual conference will focus on international arbitration and the rule of law, featuring a keynote address by the First Advocate General of the Court of Justice of the European Union, Maciej Szpunar. The conference will be held on 24 April 2026 in Kraków. Panel discussions will cover topics such as international arbitration and failing court systems, international arbitration and fundamental rights and managing complex public interest issues in international arbitration. The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb) has announced that Cesar Pereira C.Arb FCIArb assumed the role of its 2026 President on 1 January 2026, succeeding Professor Dr Mohamed Abdel Wahab.
