The Welsh Government has announced that it is to make available a £3,000 incentive for businesses that are employing an apprentice under the age of 25 for at least 30 hours per week in an effort to help Wales recover from the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In addition, Welsh businesses may also receive £1,500 for each person age under 25 they employ for less than 30 hours per week. £2,000 and £1,000 will also be provided for apprentices over the age of 25 and working at least 30 hours and less than 30 hours respectively. Payments will be restricted to ten apprentices per business.
