The Chief Regulator of Ofqual, Jo Saxton, and the Chief Executive of UCAS, Clare Marchant, have written a joint letter to students who will receive their exam results on 18 August 2022. The letter confirms the return to summer exams, and has explained that these will be the sole determining factor for grades. The letter has also suggested that grades in 2022 will not look like those in 2021 and that the two cannot be meaningfully compared, as they were fundamentally different forms of assessment. However, it has confirmed that this will have been reflected in offers given from universities.
