The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman (LGSCO) has found that Wirral Council took too long to implement provisions for a teenager’s education, causing him to miss out on his post–16 studies. The investigation found that the council took too long to implement the teenagers EHC plan and failed to identify that he was out of education during the first national lockdown. Wirral Council has been asked to pay the teenager £4,400 and his mother £250.
